Grass & Clover

Quality herbage lies at the heart of a sustainable livestock farming system.  Whether grazed or ensiled the variety and quality of herbage available to Dairy, Beef or Sheep farmers can often be the route to efficient production and the key to long term success.

  • Germinal’s ground–breaking and award–winning Aber HSG range of varieties has been developed through an innovative breeding programme carried out at IBERS Aberystwyth University over the last 30 years. Including intermediate and late heading perennial ryegrasses and hybrid ryegrasses, Aber HSG varieties combine the highest dry matter yield, quality and general agronomic attributes, as well as high water soluble carbohydrate content.

    • Aber High Sugar Grass varieties
  • Germinal’s Aber HSG mixtures contain perennial and hybrid ryegrasses that are exclusively Aber HSG, allowing livestock farmers to gain maximum benefit from these award–winning varieties. This range includes ten carefully formulated mixtures to deliver high quality cost effective forage for the vast majority of livestock farming needs.
